I’m currently in cahoots with a violin maker (Joseph Curtin), a U of M physicist (Gabriel Weinreich), and an Artistic Designer (Alex Sobolev) to create the next generation of electric violins. The violin will be able to simulate, in real time, the acoustics of a live violin and produce a more flexible, potentially realistic sound.
My task, as resident Electrical Engineer, is to design the digital audio processing backbone that will support the real-time simulation.
